St Mary’s and St John’s CE School

Welcome to SMSJ. We are proud to offer excellent education for pupils age 3 to 18. Within this website you can get a flavour of what it means to be a pupil or parent at SMSJ.

We firmly believe that ‘Everything is possible’ and that with pupils’ hard work and dedication and teachers that inspire and support that all pupils can achieve their very best.

As a Church of England school we are a strong learning community and our work is rooted in Christian values which we aim to both live and teach. Our traditional curriculum is enriched by our our chosen specialist subjects of the Performing Arts and Business and Enterprise.

I lead a highly dedicated professional team of teachers, curriculum support and administration staff who are committed to SMSJ’s vision for all of its pupils. Working with supportive parents and dedicated Governors our pioneering vision is for a high achieving all-through CE  school from nursery through to A level.

We place importance on each and every pupil striving for excellence – in their learning, homework, pride in wearing their uniform and the way that they behave in school and in their community. We expect pupils to take work seriously and be proud to represent SMSJ.

Our extra curricular programme is rich and diverse. Staff are generous with their time and pupils are expected to make the very best of these opportunities. It is through these endeavours and their academic studies that pupils grow and thrive as a strong community.
